Melissa A. Smith is a Toronto based Casting Director and owner of Melissa A. Smith Casting Inc., a casting company specializing in film & television and Opal Entertainment Inc., a production company based in Northern Ontario. Melissa has cast a number of successful feature films, movies of the week and television series. Credits include projects for NBC UNIVERSAL, SHOWCASE, SONY PICTURES, CTV, HALLMARK and THE SYFY NETWORK.
Melissa was named Playback Magazine's 5 To Watch in 2016 and won the 40 Under 40 Award in 2017. Melissa is a member of the Casting Directors Society of Canada.
MELISSA A. SMITH (CDC) - STUDIO DIRECTOR
Originally from Sudbury, ON, Melissa received her start in the industry as an actor. She secured representation with one of Canada’s top talent agencies in Toronto, and had the opportunity to work on a number of films. In 2010, Melissa found herself on the other side of the camera, working at a busy casting company in Toronto. Melissa trained with two of Canada's top Casting Directors before branching off and opening Melissa A. Smith Casting. At present, Melissa is working on a number of feature films with Canadian, American and U.K. producers.

KELLY LAMB- PRE-TEENS ON CAMERA & MODELLING
Kelly Lamb has been teaching acting and modelling lessons to Sudbury's youth for the past 7 years. Kelly previously instructed at the Gauvreau Academy and has been teaching at MAS Acting Studios for over 4 years. She is an ACTRA, and a UDA Stagiaire member; she can be seen in television shows such as Letterkenny, and V-Wars. She continues to work on her craft by training with Toronto acting coach Robert Kennedy.
MICHAEL VINCENT DAGOSTINO - ON CAMERA TECHNIQUE
Michael was born and raised in Northern Ontario, Canada. He was a high school drama and history teacher for 7 years prior to pursuing his career full time as an active ACTRA member since 2009. He has over 18 movie and television series credits, with roles as varied as prison guard (The Awakening, Warehouse 13, Breakout Kings, Covert Affairs), police officer (Flashpoint, The Firm, Alphas, Lost After Dark, House on the Hill), medic/doctor (The Fighting Man, The Captive, The Intruders), cottager (The Privileged), as well as stand in for Andy Garcia in The Truth . SCOTT FLORENCE - IMPROV PROGRAM
Scott Florence instructs the adult & youth improv programs at MAS. Scott is an actor/ improvisor/ clown/ director/ creator/ teacher/ administrator/ producer/ curator/ performance artist/ writer/ janitor/ mask maker/ bottle washer/ poet/ artistic director - some by choice, and some by necessity. In Sudbury, Scott worked as General Manager at the Sudbury Theatre Centre, where he also taught Improv. Prior to that was the artistic director of Ottawa’s premiere Shakespeare troupe, A Company of Fools, the artistic managing director of the Ottawa Lumiere Festival, a co-curator of the .isme: Cabaret, the general manager of the Canadian Improv Games, and an associate professor with Algonquin College. His work as an actor, improvisor director, and clown has taken him as far north as Yellowknife, as far south as St. Pete’s, Fla., as far west as Victoria, B.C. and as far east as Nanjing, China.
PHILIPPE POIRIER - ON-CAMERA TECHNIQUE
Philippe Poirier is a professional actor / theatre director who received his BFA degree from Ryerson Theatre School and is a graduate with honors from Humber College in the acting for Film & Television program. Some of his professional theatre credits include Opening Night (Quebec Art Center, 2015), The Shoemaker and His Wife (Little Red Theatre, 2014-15), Projet Actif (Mixed Company Theatre, 2013-14), Starting Over (Bad Dog Theatre, 2012), Hometown (Blyth Theatre Festival, 2011) and Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night (Ruckus Magazine, 2010). Some of his Film and TV credits include V-Wars (High Park Entertainment, 2018) Noel en Boite (Distinct Features Inc. & SandBay Entertainment, 2018), Carter (Sony Pictures & BRAVO Television Network, 2018), Project Ithaca (Wild Media Entertainment & Universal Pictures 2017), Eastlink TV’s 14 Keys (Stable Eyes Pictures, 2017), Vertical Integration (Doug Carr, 2014) and Memory Lane (Miles Robison, 2013). He also has appeared in commercials for AstraZeneca CRESTOR (2012) and RBC investments (2012-13). He enjoys teaching new actors of all ages.
MARTHA FACHINI - ADVANCED YOUTH ON-CAMERA
Martha was born and raised in Northern Ontario.
She has a Bachelor of Arts from Laurentian University including classes in Theatre training.
Martha has her Bachelor of Education from Nipissing University and is a certified OCT Educator.
Martha has been studying under Melissa A. Smith at MAS Acting Studios for over two years and has worked on various sets, including: St. Nickel, What Would Sal Do?, Perfect Christmas, Indian Horse, Never Saw it Coming, Letterkenny, Through Black Spruce, The New Romantic and The Rest of Us.
Martha recently was invited to audition for the feature films, The Rest of Us and Nowhwere to be Found.
